Protecting what’s in the freshpack

Hands-Off Production
None of our drink ingredients are ever touched by our manufacturing team.

Coffee, Made Safe
With our specialized production process, none of our grounds are exposed to oxygen or the open-air—which protects from airborne germs.

Germs Stay Out, Freshness Stays In
Our Freshpacks stay sealed until the moment they’re brewed—so there’s no exposure to air and germs—and they remain as fresh as the day they were packed.1

Brewing your drinks

Low-Contact Brewing
There’s not much you need to touch on FLAVIA brewers. After just a few taps, your drink is ready to go. After a fine needle (inside the FLAVIA brewer) pierces the Freshpack nozzle, hot water is the only thing that touches our ingredients.

Bonus: there’s no flavor transfer from someone else’s drink.

Avoid a Breakroom Backup
Avoid lines in the breakroom because FLAVIA drinks brew in under a minute.

Keeping it clean

Fewer Parts, Fewer Problems
With an average time of 155 weeks between service calls2, our brewers require less maintenance, which keeps germs out of our self-contained machines.

Virus Disinfection
The streamlined exterior of FLAVIA brewers can be easily cleaned and cared for—which is more important than ever because some viruses, including coronaviruses, live on surfaces.

For detailed cleaning instructions for your brewer, please refer to your brewer’s User Guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Flavia Brewers, Hygiene, and Cleaning

ARE THERE WAYS I CAN KEEP MY BREAKROOM OPEN BUT STILL FOLLOW GUIDELINES FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING?

We also recommend following the CDC’s guidelines for office buildings.

Some ideas for encouraging social distancing in the breakroom can include the following:

  • Adding decals on the floor to measure social distancing
  • Limiting occupancy in the breakroom
  • Encouraging employees to take breaks outside or other places than the traditional breakroom
  • Encouraging employees to access breakroom only to grab a beverage and then return to their desk
  • Posting signs in and around breakrooms with reminders to adhere to social distancing

HOW CAN MY FLAVIA BREWER HELP ENABLE SOCIAL DISTANCING IN THE OFFICE?

With FLAVIA brewers, you get fast brewing and less waiting, which means employees can get in and out of the breakroom quickly and there’s less worry about lines forming.

WHAT’S THE RECOMMENDED HANDLING OF THE FRESHPACK TO ENSURE MY DRINK IS SAFE?

Thanks to FLAVIA’s unique pack to cup brewing system, the only thing that touches the ingredients is hot water pierced at the very top of the nozzle with a fine needle. Furthermore, the hot water is heated in the brewers using two separate hot tanks. These hot tanks bring the water temperature up to approximately 201 degrees Fahrenheit. According to the WHO and CDC, the majority of viruses and bacteria cannot live in water in excess of 140-150 degrees Fahrenheit. More information regarding these topics can be found on the CDC and WHO websites.

HOW DO I CLEAN MY BREWER?

Unlike many other machines, all exterior surfaces can be cleaned easily with a disinfecting wipe or solution. Daily sanitization for the buttons and screen area can be done using any sanitizing wipes and we recommend food-grade sanitizing wipes to clean the cup stand, pack door, and the inside of the pack door area.

For safe cleaning of the outside of your FLAVIA Brewers, please reference your brewer’s user guide under the section for daily and weekly cleaning.

ARE SANITIZING WIPES SAFE TO USE ON MY BREWER?

Daily sanitization for the buttons and screen area can be done using any sanitizing wipes, and we recommend food-grade sanitizing wipes to clean the cup stand, pack door, and the inside of the pack door area.

NO ONE HAS BEEN IN THE OFFICE TO DRINK COFFEE FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. HOW CAN I TELL IF MY FLAVIA FRESHPACKS ARE EXPIRED?

All FLAVIA Freshpacks and Freshpack cases have a B.B.E. (Best Before End) date stamped on them. This is a guide for the product being guaranteed fresh through that date. Below are examples:

Freshpack BBE Date

Location: Back of pack at bottom after “KLBD-D”

Format: (YY.MM.DD)

This Freshpack’s BBE date is November 24, 2020

Case BBE Date

Location: Long side of case

Format: (YY.MM.DD)

This case’s BBE date is March 11, 2021

WILL THE HEAT OF THE BREWING SYSTEM KILL ANY GERMS ON THE NOZZLE OR PACK THAT MAY HAVE BEEN TOUCHED?

To produce your favorite hot drinks, water is heated in the brewers using two separate hot tanks. In addition, thanks to FLAVIA’s unique pack to cup brewing system, the only thing that touches the ingredients is hot water pierced at the very top of the nozzle with a fine needle.

MY BREWER HASN’T BEEN USED FOR SEVERAL WEEKS WHILE MY OFFICE WAS CLOSED. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO RESTART MY BREWER?

For FLAVIA® brewers that have been left idle during the quarantine period, we are recommending the below procedure to flush the brewers:

Creation 150

  • Remove the cold tank from the back of the brewer. Dump the existing water from the cold tank and rinse the tank.
  • Refill the tank to the max fill line and place the tank back on the brewer.
  • Place a 10oz cup on the drip tray and press and hold the hot water button to dispense a cup of hot water. Dispose of the hot water and repeat this step a total of three times.

Creation 200

  • Remove the drip tray and cup surround molding. Pull out the white cold water drain plug at the bottom of the brewer and the cold tank will drain. Please use a pitcher or small bucket to catch the water. There is an instructional video of this process on the FLAVIA® Tech Support App, under C200 Overview Videos.
  • If this is a plumbed in brewer, the cold tank will automatically fill as you are draining water from the cold tank. Drain about 1 gallon of water from the cold tank and replace the white drain plug, cup surround molding, and drip tray. If this is a pour over brewer, drain the cold tank completely, replace the cold tank drain plug, and refill through the cold tank through the fill lid.
  • Place a 10oz cup on the drip tray and press and hold the hot water button to dispense a cup of hot water. Dispose of the hot water and repeat this step a total of three times.

Creation 400, 500, and Barista

  • If the brewer’s energy saver mode is still on, which is the default after 240 minutes (4 hours) the brewer will automatically shut down the hot tanks until a button is pressed. After a button is pressed, the hot tanks will then heat and return to the main coffee screen. If energy saver is turned off, the brewer will already be at the normal coffee screen.
  • Remove the pack bin (for Barista- the left pack bin), remove the plastic circular cap on the inside left of the pack bin compartment.
  • For plumbed-in brewers, pull out the cold tank drain tube (while leaving the main water supply on), pull the cap, and drain water into the pack bin until it is about half full. Pinch off tube, insert the cap, and place the tube back in the compartment. Replace the circular plastic cap on the left side of the pack bin compartment. Dispose of the water in the pack bin and place the pack bin back in the machine.
  • For pour over brewers, pull out the cold tank drain tube, pull the cap, and drain all the water from the cold tank into the pack bin. Replace the tube cap, place the tube back in its compartment, and replace the white circular cap in the pack bin compartment. Dispose of the water in the pack bin and place the pack bin back in the machine. Refill the cold tank using the fill lid on top of the brewer.
  • Place a 10 oz cup on the drip tray and vend 4 cups of hot water by pressing and holding the hot water button. Empty the cup after each hot water vend.
